One of the most rewarding of my professional activities is providing individual and group supervision for dietitians/nutritionists and other medical and mental health professionals. Although the clinical supervision model is commonplace in the field of psychotherapy, nutrition therapists often do not have mentoring and counseling support. Yet, those of us working with clients and their food issues do healing work on so many levels. I also have co-facilitated a group for dietitians and mental health professionals who work in the eating disorders field and are recovering or have recovery histories. This provides a safe, confidential place to talk about issues that come up when doing this challenging work.
Currently, I am facilitating several groups for professionals who work with disordered eating, including one that I call the Embodied ED Professionals Supervision Group.. We focus on bringing the body into treatment in a trauma-informed way. I’m particularly interested in working with professionals who are curious about adding somatic elements to their clinical work.
Although nutrition professionals may not work directly with the underlying psychological issues, discussing food brings up so many deeper concerns, both for the client and the clinician. It’s important for nutrition professionals to have a forum to work through challenges and get support when doing this kind of counseling.
I would not be the healing provider that I am today without the mentoring and clinical supervision that I have received over the years. It is very satisfying to give and receive clinical supervision as I do this work. I am honored to support professionals of all types who work with clients who have food and body concerns.

"I loved so many things about our group, especially connecting with and learning from amazing clinicians who are also interested in bringing Somatic Experiencing (SE) into their practices, and continuing to learn more about SE and how to apply it to my work with clients."

Group work is satisfying and particularly helpful for professionals in private practice. I facilitate several supervision/consultation
groups, including one for professionals with a history of eating disorder recovery and one for those interested in bringing more somatic and embodiment work to counseling.
I will reach out to you shortly. I look forward to working with you!
